last weekend’s wedding was extra special because cathi was there as a guest. i got to sit with her at one of the real people tables for dinner. i didn’t get to finish all the great food but i made sure the Stella and tri-tip were well sorted.

and there was an empty seat next to me for my little friends. please take note of the mix of nikon and canon gear. i’m very proud of the fact that i can cross party lines to get things accomplished.
if you care, this is quite standard wedding gear for me. the canon 1v is my main work horse. here it has the canon 100mm, f/2.0 lens mounted. the extra canon mount camera is an Elan 7n. below it is sporting the other favorite canon lens, the 35mm, f/1.4L. these two lenses go back and forth between the two canon cameras depending on what’s going on around and what film is in which machine. the third camera shown here is the nikon f3 sporting the famous 50mm, f/1.8 Ai-s lens. it is a manual focus, loud clacking, motor winding, piece of magic. i just love it. and with about 47 lbs. of batteries in there, you can defend yourself with it if things get nasty.
there’s always more gear that gets pushed under the table to stay out of the way. on this outing, the forth camera to get some play was the holga. the crazy camera that run film more expensive than the whole camera. i had a guest at the wedding last week ask what kind of lens i was using. my only answer as i ran by to catch the first dance was “plastic.”
stay tuned. i hope to have something to share back from the lab later this week.

[…] Carolyn and Liam got married at the zoo a few weeks ago. the day started with photographers dream light and held right through the ceremony. when the sun set, the party kicked off proper, with senior year rocking the joint. with flowers by Modern Day Design, makeup by TEAM Hair and Makeup and the whole thing pulled together by Debbie Hews of Chic Events everything was spot on. and of course i’ve already mentioned the tri-tip from Rincon Catering in a previous blog post.
