laura and michael live in georgia. everyone knows that if you live in georgia, the best place to get married is in ballard, california. it is just the thing to do. lucky for me.

i got to shoot tanya and eric at the biltmore in santa barbara. it was fantastic.

i’ve spent a lot of time at that location over the years. that is if you count the hours sitting on the wall with friends eating burritos or sneaking in to go hot tubbing.

in the run up to tanya and eric’s wedding on may 17th i ran some recon with my family for a sunset burrito dinner much like the college days. all of this history and build-up had me very excited to shoot up tanya and eric. and let me tell you, there was no let down. the event was top notch all the way. check out a few teaser pics while i finish up the larger edit.

cathi and i went to a wedding mass a few weeks ago. it was fantastic. even though it was mostly in spanish, i could pick out some themes - it isn’t hard to figure out that they are talking about love and jesus and weddingy things. after mass, we went home and picked up the boys who joined us for the reception. the party was big, fun and loud.

how do you like that cell phone in the flower girl’s basket? go chivas!

leslie and philippe got married in kingsburg the day before easter. i had a great time photographing the day. there were lots of great, unique bits. both dads are preachers so they were both up there; they did their vows in french (leslie’s to philippe) and spanish (philippe’s to leslie); there was an easter egg hunt. all great fun.

we tried to get this shoot happening last year but it just wouldn’t work out. finally happened last week. luckily, just before the santa barbara monsoon season hit.

i have not seen hendry’s beach like this before. a winter beach with the rocks exposed and the tide way out. lots of tide pools to walk around and explore. add some pretty light and a good looking family and it makes my job real easy.

trying to make some clever pun with “by any other name” but that is just lame. instead, how about some pictures?

the youngs have a serious problem: maddie loves horses and talks as if one of her own is in her future. i’m not sure if i helped the situation by suggesting we go to the show grounds for their family christmas card photo shoot.

we were going to do the pics before thanksgiving but trevor got in a fight and ended up with a black eye. we rescheduled for when the shiner went away. was good because there was a huge horse show that first weekend while we had the run of the place last sunday morning.

i’m always taking pictures of feet. even on the job i end up with feet pictures. cathi keeps telling me i need to make a book of just foot pictures. aunt karen teases me by taking pictures of her own feet and sending them to me - “nice new pink crocs, karen. thanks for sharing.”

this is why when megan asked half way through a christmas card session last weekend if we could do the feet shots i though she was making fun of me. nope. turns out they really wanted feet pictures. awesome!
