the t-ball season draws to a close. The Scrappers have one more game, and then the curtain comes down on a truly awesome year. big, huge props to coach ben. we had a bit of a rough go at the start and he was a great help. i, for one, and looking forward to many more years at the ball field with that family.

here’s a few pictures of emmett and his Scrapper teammates.

and before you ask, we do not keep score in t-ball. that being said, our lads took ‘em deep way more often than the other team. and we came close a couple of times to turning a legitimate double play on an infield ground ball. check back in, i’ll let you know if we get one in the last game.

the rose family. they make it so stinking easy. look at this lot. that’s four consecutive frames on the same roll. that isn’t supposed to happen. and there are plenty more. this is just a sampling because i’m really into sharing pictures from the old rollie these days. if you are nice, i’ll show more in a while.

i’ve been shooting families for the holidays for three or four years now. this year i decided to run it a bit differently. instead of scheduling every session separately, i picked a few of my favorite locations around town and set up a time slots on each day. then i got the word out and hoped people would start requesting shoot times.

they signed up alright. last weekend i shot up four different families. one on saturday and then three back to back to back on sunday. i think it went pretty well.

i took the opportunity to throw some film in the old Rolleiflex and see what happens. there were plenty of good frames with the canon full auto machine, but i thought i’d share a few from the Rollei’ tonight. maybe its just me, but there’s something extra fun about them.

i’m currently right in the middle of families weekend number 2. i’ll share some of those when they get birthed.

boy was it windy this day. i’ve never been blown out at hendry’s beach before. it is usually a tried and true location. the boris family were all good sports; we braved the wind for a while and then retreated to the picnic area that was better protected. i think we did alright.

for the photogs in the group, the square pictures here were shot with an old relleiflex twin lens reflex camera i inherited from my wife’s family. i’m really enjoying using it these days. the last two times i’ve gone out on a family shoot i’ve brought it along and used it a bit between shots with the fancy modern cameras. both times some of my favorite pictures have come from this 50+ year old camera.
